Burrowing owl (Athene cunicularia) on soybeans stubble

Ryegrass is growing below the soybeans.
Right there, on the middle of the photograph, the three owls around its burrow.
On the left, a Pinus taeda forest.
On the right, a combine harvesting a field of soybeans yielding 4,5 t/ha.
This family of burrowing owls or "corujas-buraqueiras" (Athene cunicularia) has made their burrow
in the middle of the crop.

These photos show the burrow and its happy owners soon after the crop has been harvested in Southern Brazil.
